The new movie, Touched with Fire, will be viewed and discussed. Touched with Fire stars Katie Holmes and Luke Kirby as two poets with bipolar disorder whose art is fueled by their emotional extremes. The portrayal of persons with a mental illness has been problematic in the past, but now there continue to be more movies that reflect a more accurate picture. The writings and work of clinical psychologist Kay Redfield Jamison play a vital role here, and she even appears as herself in a critical scene. We hope you can come view the movie, participate in discussion, and share your thoughts about the film.
