Metropolitan State Hospital Community Education Program is inviting families and friends to a video review and discussion regarding “Understanding Art Therapy and Its Value in Recovery.”
Presenter: Nina Matthews, MA , MFA, ATR
Ms. Matthews will cover an introduction to Art therapy and its treatment relevance in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy unit treating patients with Borderline Personality Disorder. There will be a case presentation of a patient with BPD and will include a slide show of the artwork generated from individual Art therapy sessions. Participants will also be given an option to engage in an interactive creative process to experience the validity and utility of the Art therapy process.
