Hannah Liddell, Supervising Attorney with the Office of Payee Review and Beneficiary Assistance (OPRBA), will be presenting a Introduction to OPRBA and a Representative Payee Basics Training.

Representative Payees are for Social Security Disability Insurance(SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits of another person. Many NAMI family members are the payees for their loved one, or organizations, such as board and cares serve as payees.

This presentation will review the role of the Office of Payee Review and Beneficiary Assistance under Disability Rights of California and review the requirements and responsibilities of payees. It will include what may be included in a review and assessment of payees and best practices. If you are now a representative payee, considering being a payee or just want to know more about it this presentation will be very helpful in ensuring you understand the role of the payee and the person receiving the benefits understanding their rights.
