Peer Resource Center – Mental Health Advocate
The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health has established Peer Resource Centers with a variety of services and resources available for persons with a mental illness. The first Peer Resource Center was co-located with the Department of Mental Health headquarters; now some centers are being established in service areas. At the Peer Resource Centers there are support groups and resource information. One of the current groups addresses preparation for work by persons with a mental illness. Lori Kerr will provide information about the Peer Resource Centers and the work readiness groups.
